Spaced repetition

Reviewed the moment you were about to forget.

Most flashcard apps show you a card because a fixed number of days went by. Thaxas schedules with FSRS, which models how fast you forget each individual card and brings it back at the edge of recall — where the review is actually worth something.

Every review you pass pushes the next one further out. A deck you keep up with costs you less time each week, not more.

Study groups

Share the material. Keep the progress yours.

One folder for the module. Somebody uploads the syllabus once and the whole group works from it — no re-uploading, no “which version is this?”. Invite with a code; there are no seats to buy.

Your flashcards, quiz scores and chat stay private. A study group should not turn into a leaderboard.

The flashcards come back right when I'm about to forget them. My retention before finals has never been this good.

I photographed a circuits problem, told it to only solve part (b) with mesh analysis, and it did exactly that.

Short-answer quizzes graded against a rubric, not string matching. It caught that my definition was half right — and said which half.

FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers.

What can I upload?

PDFs, PowerPoint and Word files, plain text and Markdown, photos of handwritten notes (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC), and audio lectures (MP3, M4A, WAV and more) — up to 50MB per file. One space per subject, and there is no limit on how many spaces you make.

Is there a free tier?

No, and we won't pretend otherwise. Thaxas is $8/month billed yearly, or $12 month to month, and every feature is in both — all eight tools, unlimited spaces and uploads, and shared folders for your study group. We'd rather be plainly paid than quietly convert you after a trial you forgot you started: there's an email before every charge, and cancelling takes two clicks and keeps your access until the period you paid for ends. The focus timer, lo-fi and ambient sounds are free to everyone, with no account at all.

How does the spaced repetition work?

Thaxas schedules flashcards with FSRS, the same algorithm serious reviewers use. It models how quickly you personally forget each individual card and brings that card back at the edge of recall, rather than after a fixed number of days. Every successful review pushes the next one further out, so a deck you keep up with takes less time each week, not more.

Can I study with other people?

Yes. A folder holds shared spaces and shared material: someone uploads the syllabus once and the whole group works from it. You invite people with a code, and there are no seats to buy. What stays private is your progress — flashcards, quiz scores, review history and chat are yours alone, and a study group never turns into a leaderboard.

Does it work with my curriculum?

Yes. Thaxas works from whatever you give it, so it fits IB, A-Level, AP, IGCSE, GCSE, Abitur, Baccalauréat, CBSE, Gaokao, ENEM and university courses alike. You can set your curriculum in Settings so the tools phrase things the way your exams do.

Is my material private?

Yes. Your uploads live in private storage tied to your account, are never shared with other users, and are never used to train models. Delete a space and its files go with it; delete your account and everything is removed.
